Clarity, a division of Plantronics, Inc. and a leader in communications products for the hard of hearing, asked Big Bang to develop a line of cordless and corded telephones and communications accessories with unique features and ergonomics for their target market. Using our training in QFD (Quality, Function, Deployment), we embarked on a robust research initiative, employing both qualitative and quantitative research to discover and prioritize the rational and emotional motivations of users, as well as developing specific ergonomic best practices that address the user group.

Using our research results and emphasis on universal design, Big Bang created a product line that highlights Clarity’s proprietary sound technology, in conjunction with intuitive, easy to read graphics and controls, and contemporary and iconic shapes. All exterior surfaces and engineering intent were documented in Pro/ENGINEER™ and coordinated with Clarity’s manufacturing vendors.
